There were "Camps" in the San Luis Valley of Colorado where I grew up, more specifically Conejos County & I believe there are some family members still there. You might try a google or boolean search to find the county web pages "Alamosa", Rio Grande" "Costilla" and you can post queries there. The railroad was probably the Denver, Rio Grande & Western Railroad. You might also try <www.familysearch.org> and the search engines at that site as the Camp family members I knew were LDS and members of either the Romeo or Manassa Wards and some families lived in what we locals called "Track City", my father remembers the area as "Mountain View" and "Sunflower".
Try also <www.slvdwellers.org> (or com). The Colorado state archives has a web page with some on-line that may or not be helpful.
