John,
There are no Bard folks listed in the 1930 census in Boulder County. The only Bard in the public records 1850-1950 is Winfield S. Bard, who filed a chattel mortgage in 1902. (See http://www.co.boulder.co.us/clerk/recording/search/icris.htm)
There are 3 Bard folks in Boulder's Columbia Cemetery - see http://www.rootsweb.com/~bgs/columbia/columbia_b.html
How have you placed Mrs. Bard in Boulder? Do you know her husband's name? You might try requesting a city directory lookup from the Boulder Genealogical Society - see http://www.rootsweb.com/~bgs/research.html
There is a folder of Bard family letters at the Carnegie branch of the Boulder Public Library. See http://www.boulder.lib.co.us/ and search the catalog for BARD (limit to Carnegie branch materials). The library also has extensive records from the Howe Mortuary. Contact info is here: http://www.boulder.lib.co.us/branch/carnegie.html
Best of luck, and do try posting your requests on the Boulder county board.
- Karen
