This might be a good time to remind people again of the Roots Archives.

At this location you can type in the name of your LIST of interest, in this
case COALMINERS-L. Then you can explore what LISTERS have written before
now. Quite a few stories of what life was like for our forefathers who
worked in the mines have already appeared on this LIST. You just have to
come up with the relevant words. One more reason why it is so important to
put meaningful words in the subject line. I think you can also just read the
LIST chronologically at the Archives site.
