Can anyone help me? My Great Grandfather (Albert Southwood) lived in
Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana and was working for the Indian Creek
Coal Mines in 1917 when he died and prior to that date. His obituary
said that he stepped infront of a train and was killed when coming home
from work at this mine. I was also told he was severly burned in a coal
mine explosion accident years before his death. Several of his sons
also worked at this mine.

I have tried to find some information on this mine but have been
unsuccesful on the internet. Does anyone know where this mine was
located or anything about it? Or how and where I can find information?
Since Illinois is right next door I wonder if the mine could be in that
state or IN. I wondered since he was killed by the train if he took a
train to the mine and how far it was from where he lived? I am working
on my family genealogy and would like to include some information on
this.

I would be most grateful for any help anyone can supply???? Thank you.
