My grandfather - a miner -left Ashington and went to the US with his wife
and 3 children in the early 1880's. They had 3 children in the next 10
year's before returning to Ashington.

I have located them in Clay County Indiana in 1885 for the birth of one of
their children but where else may they have gone and why would they have
returned? Any suggestions or ideas for web sites on background of that
period would be appreciated.
