Gretchen Etter Simcoe, 84, of Aurora, formerly of Loveland, died Aug. 24, 2003, in Aurora.
No services were held. Burial was Aug. 29 in Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.
She was born Dec. 3, 1918, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Robert L. and Marjorie Ball Etter. Her family moved to Loveland in 1922. She graduated from Loveland High School and the University of Colorado. She married Norman Simcoe of Loveland in 1942. He preceded her in death.
While her husband served in the U.S. Air Force, she taught school in Loveland, Denver, Kansas, Nebraska, California, Alabama and Florida. She retired from teaching in 1967.
She is survived by two sons, Mark of Steamboat Springs, and Ronald of New York City; a brother, Robert Etter of Denver; two sisters, Anne Eastman of Lakewood, and Janet Hadley of Loveland; two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Bray.
