J. George Leyner

“J. George Leyner, a pioneer in the development of rock drilling machinery, and inventor of many other appliances, was killed by an automobile accident at Littleton, Col., the past month. Mr. Leyner was born in Boulder County, Col., in 1860, being the first white child born in that county. Mr. Leyner incorporated the Leyner Engineering Works in Littleton in 1902, and continued in business there until 1911, when the Ingersoll-Rand Company took over his patents and inventions and transferred the manufacture to Phillipsburg, N. J.”

(Please note that I am not related to this gentleman, and I do not have any further information on him or his family.)
