The Cobbs, especially the Joseph IOW line, loved to use tribute names. It
could used as the be the given or the middle name. For instance, Laura
Munson has documented on her excellent web site that Absalom Cobb, the son of Robert
Cobb and Mary Deberry, named a daughter Polly Deberry Cobb and a son
Deberry Cobb.

I am actually hoping to have one of Absalom's descendants contribute to
the DNA project, because we don't yet have an excess of participants for
this line. By "Jeremiah", do you mean the father of Alexander/Saunders
Cobb?
