Subject: [COBB-DNA] From List Administrator

Good morning from frozen Texas! I have two administrative items for
everyone.

#1 Several messages lately have been too long (simply stated). We all know
that a lot of changes have taken place at Rootsweb recently; some good and
some not so good. They have apparently installed some new hardware that is
programmed to make some automatic assumptions ... one being that long email
messages are SPAM. Such messages are not allowed to go to mail lists such as
this one. They are first automatically deferred to the list administrator,
who has to do this and that to allow the message to pass on to the list.

So, please keep your messages reasonably short to avoid this problem.

#2 Everyone needs to keep their anti-virus software updated and to set your
program to do a full system scan at least once every 24 hours. Referring to
#1 above, just now in the process of approving a couple of messages for the
list, I saw hard evidence that at least one list member has been infected
with a Trojan. You would not believe what kind of SPAM was attempting to
infiltrate the list from her computer and using her email address as the
source. If it hadn't been for the fact that the SPAM message was so long, it
never would have been deferred to me for approval, and would have made it
through to the list. I am notifying her privately.

To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to
with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes
in the subject and the body of the message
