Whitney Albert Halteman
Whitney Albert Halteman of Bellevue died Jan. 6, 2000, at Overlake
Hospital in Bellevue. He was 89.
Mr. Halteman was born Aug. 7, 1910, in Denver and graduated in 1928 from
East Denver High School in Denver. He also attended the University of
Southern California in Los Angeles. He had lived on the Eastside for two
and a half years.
He married Leona J. Halteman on Oct. 9, 1971, in Carmel, Calif.
Mr. Halteman worked in public relations at the Hanford nuclear reactor
site during World War II. After the war, he was general manager of civil
service employee organizations in Oregon and California.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter, Marilyn Mensinger
of Bremerton; stepdaughters Carol Jean Dickhaut of California, Janet
Jupiter of Mountlake Terrace and Mary Lou Royce of Nevada; four
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Margaret's Episcopal
Church.
Green's Bellevue Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
