-------------------------

I'm trying to find information on my great grandparents, Patrick and Mary
(McCarthy) Quilty. They were in Denver from around 1880 to 1900. Mary came
to the U.S. in the 1880's and she and Patrick had their first child in
1889 in Denver, CO. The family broke up in the early 1900's. Mary stayed
in Denver and raised their only surviving child a daughter, Margaret Mary
Quilty. She also homesteaded in Fondis about 1904, I believe, near the
homestead of Mary's sister James and Delia or Bridget (McCarthy)Dixon.
At this time Mary also became a citizen of the U.S. so I'm thinking Patrick
wasn't or maybe they didn't have a legal marriage, it was said he had other
wives, whatever that meant back then. I think Mary met Patrick through
Dixon's because they were all in Denver in the beginning. I believe Dixon
worked on the railroad at that time. Since Patrick was a mechinist, as
it said in the Denver directory of 1990, I thought he might have worked
for the railroad also.
Any help would be appreciated. Patrick Francis Quilty was believed to have
been from Chicago, IL. That is all I know of him. Mary McCarthy was born
7 June 1860 in Co. Tipperary, Ireland. She had three sisters, Dixon, Flood,
Keaney, in Colorado and one brother, Thomas McCarthy.
