I just subscribed .....and have a question or two that I hope that
someone on this list can answer.
Another cousin and I are researching family that lived in
Denver....1890's through to 1930.

One of the ancestors was born in 1907 in Denver.....we know who her
mother was and our probing around for information has turned up the fact
that we don't know who her birth father was...altho we do KNOW who her
mother married two years after she was born.

We have been told by some family members that a "fire" in the courthouse
would have destroyed any birth records for this baby born in 1907
timeframe in Denver. Would the story of this fire be true? Can someone
from this list shed any light on that for us?
Thanks in advance. I love my genealogy hobby and look forward to your
responses. Linda Ziemann
