It has been six years since I first posted a request concerning my Murphy family. Since then I have been able to add some information and am hoping someone will recognize the family.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There were two brothers, Thomas Joseph (bn March 1862 - Baptismal record at St Peter's RC church, Westernport, MD) and Daniel (bn abt 1864) sons of John and Mary Ann O'Hara Murphy. They both appear on the 1880 U S census in Westernport, MD.
Thomas married a woman named Elizabeth Last name unknown (bn abt 1868 in England). In 1900 they lived in Trinidad City, LasAnimas Co, CO where Thomas was a road overseer for the county. On the 1900 census, Thomas gives his birth date as 1863.
By 1910 they were living at 1722 S Pearl St; Denver, Denver Co, CO and Thomas was a contractor for the Denver Water Co.
1920 found them living at the Colonial Apts on Lincoln St in Sterling, Logan Co, CO with Thomas a contractor for the Water Works System.
According to family history, Thomas died in the late 1920s. Elizabeth is found on the 1930 census living at 940 E 19th Ave; Denver, Denver Co, CO, listed as a widow. Finding their obits would be a definite plus.
It appears Thomas Joseph and Elizabeth Murphy had no children.
Daniel 'Dan' Murphy was reported by the family to have gone to Colorado also, but I can find no records of him.
I have a picture of their sister, Annie Murphy Dieling and two young women supposedly her nieces and a great niece taken at the time she attended Thomas' funeral. The family says the young women are related to the Herigstad family in someway. I have not found any connection.
If any of this sounds familiar and there might be a family connection, please contact me.
Thanks in advance
