Here's my Kentucky (and before) Coffeys... a couple of notes for Donna in
California, too.

Chesley Coffey ~1720-~1760 (wife Jane Cleveland) possibly in Kentucky before
1800
Joel Coffey ~1745-July 1789 (d. Wilkles County, NC) (wife Martha
Stepp/Stapp)
Cleveland Coffey ~1765-May 1, 1815 (d. Green County, KY) (wife Jane
Witherspoon)
George W. Coffey 1801-Aug. 28, 1856 (d. Adair County, Kentucky but lived in
Russell County) (wife Nancy ?)
(George W. Coffey's daughter Nancy C. Coffey married Elijah P.M. Morris -
their daughter married first cousin below: Liston P. Coffey)
Albert G. Coffey 1825-after 1893 (b. KY, probably died Pawnee County, Indian
Territory)
Liston P. Coffey 1860-1930 (b. Russell County, d. Idabel, Oklahoma) (wife
Jennie Louis Morris - granddaughter of George W. Coffey above.)

re: Gordon Lillie (aka Pawnee Bill) -

Liston P. and Albert G. Coffey made the Cherokee Strip run and homesteaded
in Pawnee County. Liston also acquired a town site in city of Pawnee. He and
Gordon Lillie (a local banker when not traveling in Wild West Show) were
friends and hunting buddies. However, there is no indication of any family
connection. Donna, I'm very interested in your ancestor: E. Coffey. I have
found no other Coffey families in Pawnee County in that time period and no
other Coffey claiming land there during the Cherokee Strip Run. The
reference in your family history to Gordon Lillie is very interesting. I
think we need to pursue this!
