Greetings!
I'm looking for any information on one Henry COFFIN, born, according to his
tombstone, in 1830 and (according to census records) in Maine. He was a
cabinet maker and may have moved back and forth between Maine and Boston in
the 1850s and 1860s (he married Harriet Frances MERRIAM in Boston in 1858,
and military records have him in Boston during the Civil War, but his elder
daughter, Alice Louise's census records show that she was born in Maine).
He resided in West Roxbury or Jamaica Plain, in Boston, before moving west
to Nebraska in about 1880.
I need hardly say how frustrating it is to belong to a family as
well-documented as the COFFINs and not be able to trace it back beyond 1830!
Thanks to anyone for any information!
