I'm sorry to hear of the passing of David P. Coffin, producer of the well known "Coffin Family Newsletter", and a great help to myself and many other Coffin family historians. I wonder if he ever finished the Coffin Family history book he was working on, and to whom he passed on the results of his years of study? Below are the obituaries for David and for his late wife, Deanne C. Coffin, who passed away on 9 May 2004.

On Sunday, August 28, 2005, DAVID P. COFFIN, of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Bethesda and Towson, MD. Beloved husband of the late Deanne Cole Coffin; father of Patricia Durrett and Sharon Dwyer; grandfather of Mark and Brad Durrett, Kristi Gupton, Rod and Brendan Dwyer; step-father of Richard Niedling. Also survived by six great-grandchildren. Memorial service at Chapel at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Saturday, September 3 at 3 P.M. Interment private.
