o I purchased three Swedish Bibles at an auction in Rhode
Island. One is "Biblisk Skattkammare Af P.A. Ahlberg," published
in 1893 by The Enberg-Holmberg Publishing Co.:s forlog.,
Chicago, Illinois. The name, Mr. Alexander BRUCE, with the words
"Juelhalsning fran forsamlinger 1824" are written on the inside
cover. I could find no papers or other names or dates inside.
The other is a two-volume set, "Bibeln Med Forklaringar af
Fjellstedt," published in 1878 by B. Balmquifts Uftiebolag.,
trudt hos U.L. Normans Boftrnderi-Uftiebolag, Stockholm, Sweden.
The name, Carl Johan BRUSE, the place, Pontiag, R.I., and the
Date, "den 13 Oktober, 1881" are written inside the front cover.
Inside each volume is a poem, written in Swedish, cut out of the
newspaper, no dates.
I hope these Bibles find their way to their rightful homes.
