Kind of a give away that Mary Ann Holden is probably the daughter of
Melintus Holden. Philander Colby and Mary Ann Holden named their first
child was named Melintus Holden Colby. This would follow old naming
patterns.

In looking at the 1850 census for Holden Plantation Moose River, ME it seems
that Samuel Holden and Jane Farnsworth descendants are the only ones there.

I am looking for a source showing that Mary Ann HOLDEN was the daughter of
Melintus HOLDEN.

Mary Ann HOLDEN b. abt 1829, Moose River, ME
married Philander COLBY b. 1825 Embden, ME (son of Ambrose and Almira
HOLDEN)
28 Nov 1846 Somerset Co, ME

Melintus HOLDEN b. 1801 Norridgewock, ME (son of Captial Samuel HOLDEN and
Jane FARNSWORTH).

All I have found is the unsourced works of others for their relationship and
a
CD at FHL. I only input data in my work that is sourced and the FHL CD's
have been too unreliable for me to use.

Philander COLBY's brother, Spencer had a daughter, Mary Jane COLBY that
married into my HOLDEMAN family.
