Chris,
I'm sure you have this info but will pass it on anyway. The info comes
from "The Old Free State" "Lunenburg Cousins" by Bell.
Henry Coleman secured a grant for 1000 acres in Elizabeth City Co
Va in 1632.
Henry had a son Richard Coleman who m. Rebecca Claiborn in 1654.
Richard and Rebecca had a son Robert whose wife is unknown but they
had least four children.
1. John Coleman
m. 1st in 1677 to a Margaret and 2nd to an Ann in Abingdon Parish
Gloucester Co Va
children:
1. Richard Coleman b. 1703 had a son John Coleman b. 1745
2. James Coleman b. 1722 wife Elizabeth. Also had a son John b. 1722
3. Samuel Coleman b. 1728
2. Joseph Coleman
Of Abingdon Parish Gloucester Co Va. Wife Agnes.

1. John Coleman bapt 15 Apr 1688. wife Grace died in 1758.
1. James Coleman b. 1732 wife name not known but they had five
children. Will send names if you want them.
2. Adelston Coleman bapt 1689.
3. Thomas Coleman
of Abingdon Parish. Wife's name was Rebecca.

3. Mary Coleman
4. Thomas Coleman wife Elizabeth who died in 1750.
5. Sarah Coleman b. 1687

(have more info on Thomas and Elizabeth)
4. Robert Coleman
Of Abingdon Parish. wife named Ann. Will probated in Essex Co Va 1713.
children:
1. Grizelle Coleman m. John Chamberlain
(more info)
2. Ann Coleman
3. Howard Coleman of Berkley Place Spotsylvania Co. Va. Wife Sarah and
will proved in 1794.
1. John Coleman
2. Henry Coleman
3. William Coleman
4. Thomas Coleman
5. James Coleman
6. Robert Coleman
7. Kate Coleman m. a Wagoner
8. Phoebe Coleman
I am not sure which Thomas Coleman it is but a Thomas Coleman b. 1679
m. Mary Lort b. 1683 d/o Richard Lort. Thomas' father was Robert Coleman
and mother was Ann Spilsby
children:
1. Richard Lort Coleman b. 1702
2. Thomas Coleman b. 1704
3. Robert Spilsby Coleman b. 1707
4. Elizabeth Coleman b. 1708
5. Anne Coleman b. 1709
6. Lucy Coleman b. 1711
7. Dolly Coleman b. 1713
8. Grizzell Coleman b. 1717
The name "Grizzell" in the above families clearly link them together and
the name "Spilsby" also links the "Spilsby Colemans" to this family.
I have traced my Coleman line back to Samuel Coleman of Goochland Co Va
whose wife was Mourning Christian d/o Thomas C. Cristian and Rebecca New.
Their son James m. Elizabeth Leake in 1751. James' dau Jane m. into
my Durham line who lived in the area of Goochland that became Ablemarle/
Amherst Cos.
