Hope that some helpful list subscriber, possibly someone researching on of these surnames can help.
In the history of La Salle County, Pg. 104 my GGGgrandfather Jedediah Beckwith settled on section 13 in 1834 after coming from Putnam County where he had settled the year before after moving from Wayne County, Pa and died in 1838 leaving two children.
Pg. 328 says that Jedediah Beckwith and wife, from Wayne County, Pa, came to Hennepin, Putnam County in 1833 and then to Dear Park in 1834 and made a farm on S. 13, T. 32, R. 2; died 1838 leaving two children, Horace, married Miss Collins, moved to Iowa, Emily, a seamstress living at Wenona this county.
I cannot find Prudence in the 1850 census and hope that someone out there has information as to who the parents of Prudence Collins is. After marriage census always says that Prudence is born OH.
There is a marriage record in IRAD
Horace Beckwith to Prudence Collins, July 1, 1852, LaSalle Co., IL
I have children and census for Horace and Prudence and information to share on their descendants. Horace and Prudence ended up in Black Hawk County, Iowa, one daughter, Alice Marie Beckwith who is born IL and son Fremont W. Beckwith b. Iowa.
