I found a Rufus Coombs, (previously mentioned in a recent email) in Klickitat County, Washington, Precinct 4, in the 1900 U.S. Census, enumeration district 118, on Ancestry.com image 22 of 30.

Coombs, Rufus, head, white, male, born April 1861, age 39, married 16 years, born in Maine, both parents born in Maine, occupation farmer. wife, Lillie, white female, born June 1864, age 32, married 16 years, born in MA, parents born in Poland and Germany.

and on the same sheet...

Coombs, John, head, white male, born February 1834, age 66, married 32 years, born in Maine, and parents born in Maine and Canada Eng., wife's name is Eliza, wife female, born August 1849, age 50, married 33 years?, born in NH, her parents were born in Maine and NH.

Hopefully we can make progress on getting all our McCombs/Combs/ and Coombs sorted out!
