Hello,
My gr-grandparents were married in Montrose, Montrose Co., in 1894. They
were Swedish and I understand would've attended a Lutheran church if there
was one in the area in the 1890's. Can anyone tell me what the local
churches were in that period and, if possible, where their old registers
might be kept? I am hoping the registers will include the original
village/parish the immigrants came from originally in Sweden.
This family moved to a tiny village called Ophir, in San Miguel Co., before
1903. Again, were there any local churches near this village?
Researching: FREDLUND, HAKANSON/HOKANSON in Montrose, Montrose Co.; Golden,
Jefferson Co.; Durango, LaPlata Co.; Ophir, San Miguel Co.
Very best regards,
Julie Preston
