Hello,

I am planning to come to Alamosa and Conejos county to do some family
research middle of June. Can you please advise me on hotels or campgrounds
to stay at? I need to also go to Del Norte.

My great-grandfather, Julius LeDuc/LaDuke had a lumber mill in Conejos
county and my great Uncle ran a toll road between there and Del Norte, I
believe.

Could you also please direct me as to where I can find a listing of what
the county courthouse has for records, the years covered and the hours they
are open, especially for Conejos?

My Great Uncle was murdered in 1889 and the man who murdered him, Mr.
Ortiz, was hanged. Supposedly this was the last hanging in Colorado. I do
have the Conejos County history book and a copy of a city directory and the
court case, census, and church records from the Lady of Guadalupe. The
family was there between 1879 and 1890.

I would like to look at newspapers and court house records, if possible.
