My niece, Nancy Crumpton Jones, in Savannah gave me a Crumpton button.
I'm looking at it now. Her boyfriend obtained it for us. It measures about
3/4 inch in diameter and silver in appearance. It looks like a military
button with what appears to be an eagle on the outside (appearance side).
On the inside is "Crumpton" . I am told these buttons were made in 1810
or 1811 (possibly Philladelphia or New York) for use my our military in the
War of 1812. Would appreciate any help out there to help trace the
Crumpton family who made these buttons. Many thanks, Dan Crumpton email
