What George Said, and:
To answer your other questions about Office Depot, they do have a pretty
good Belkin Blister Pack with a 4-port USB hub for about $30. First, you
need to determine if your devices are USB compatible. Since you're
complaining about printer problems, I'm assuming you're trying to take other
devices that are on your Parrallel port and move them to USB to free up a
Parrallel port for your printer. Some devices are not compatable with USB.
What devices are you trying (hoping) to move to USB?

A USB port should be part of your new computer. It's a new connection type
that's been incorporated into newer computers. Check your users manual for
the computer and/or ask the folks you purchased it from.
Just another soggy Seattle Sysop.

Copied from your reply to me ~
Using a switchbox or other port-sharing device often interrupts
communication with the HP Photosmart printers. When the need for multiple
devices installed on a single parallel port exists, installing the devices
through a USB port is recommended.
Okay I have read that portion and know that it means I need to purchase
something to get this in working order. What is this ~ USB port ~ and
is it available at Office Depot. I have purchased all of this (so far)
from them. I got the new switch box from them last night. They said to
try that as it was the cheaper way to try and if that didn't work he
said something about cables and costing prox $90 or so. Is this what
you are referring to from the "quote" from HP?
Thanks again George. You always seem to come through.
