Hi All
All you listers answering this query must have had more trouble than I have.
In the last 11 years have had 4 Canon printers up to my current IP4000 have never had one break down have only replaced to upgrade. I print a lot of photos so use a lot of ink,I have always refilled my cartrides myself & have averaged 20 refills each before any of the cartridges have needed replacing. The secret is don't overfill, always refill as soon as the cartridge runs out (do not allow them to dry out).Always buy quality ink from an ink supplier. If you buy ink from the supermarket you can only expect to get supermarket quality.I don't know about where the majority of you live but here in Oz you can replace a printer for the price of 2 or 3 cartridges. I believe that the latest canon can't be refilled because they have built a chip in them to prevent a refilled cartridge being used which just goes to prove most people have been sucessfully refilling their own.or having them refilled.
Cheers
Gordon From Oz
