Annette,
One step at a time:
First, when the mouse fell, did it become unplugged? Check its
connection, and all the other connectors on the back of the computer.
When you get the choices "Start in Safe Mode..." etc -- choose the
"Start in Safe Mode" option. Give the computer time to continue to
load Windows. After a reasonable time (a few minutes) does the Windows
desktop appear? It may look strange in Safe Mode, but if you do get
any Windows desktop at all, then shut the computer down normally and
try to restart it. Let us know what happens.
