I made contributions to both churches which provided me with
records. I sent the contributions in my grandparents' names
and asked for information about my grandparents and their
children. Chicago was quick to respond. The Diocese for
Minneapolis (St. Paul) was more difficult, I was fortunate
that a cyber-friend was on the scene in Minneapolis and
telephone-nagged them and did remind them that I had made a
contribution <smile>.

I was not among the fortunate who gleaned a great deal of
new information from the records. But I am pleased to have
them. My grandparents and their respective families were
members of the Chicago St. John Nepumucene RC Church (now
closed), and a church in Minneapolis that is still open. I
thought the contributions with my requests made sense.
