Hello,
Thanks to the help of a kind fellow research, I now have more names to add to my Kallen family of Chicago.
#1. Abraham Kallen, immigrated from Germany, married Carrie Ratsecth (Retezek) 12-21-1873 Chicago. I believe this was a second marriage.
#2. The children of Abraham Kallen were:
Leo Kallen, married Augusta. His son was Earle G. Kallen, who had an obit in Chicago Tribune 2-24-1981, he was a lawyer in Chicago for 60 yrs, firm of Kallen and Simon.
Myer Kallen, married Florence Zaremba of Chicago, they later settled in Portland, Or where Myer was an USDA Meat Inspector. They had 2 sons: Leonard Kallen who remained in Portland, OR and has left descendants there presently, and Arthur Maurice Kallen who settled in Los Angeles, and was a motion Picture Camera Operator at Paramount Studios, Hollywood, and he was my Uncle. He had 2 sons Charles and James, both deceased in Southern California.
Florence Kallen, who married Max Alexander in Chicago. They had a daughter Mariana b. 1909.
Max owned a Butcher Shop.
Emanuel Gabriel Kallen, he married Cora Goldstein, they both settled in Los Angeles, and he died in 1951 and she died in 1986 there.
Julia Kallen, no further info
Ray Kallen, she married Mr.__________Winbex. No further information.
It is my belief that the father of Abraham Kallen, and Charles Aaron Kallen, and Louis Kallen and Bernard Kallen, who all settled in Chicago, IL and had immigrated from Germany, was Emanuel Gabriel Kallen of Germany.
If this family is connected to you, please reply.
Best regards,
Lilly Martin
