My Grandmother, Ella Sweeney,'s husband, Elmer Sweeney, died in a mining accident sometime between May, 1890 and Oct. 1894. (When their 3 yr. old son, Claude, died 24 Oct. 1894, Ella was already a widow according to Claude's obituary.) However, I do not know which county the mine was in at the time. Elmer's brother, Charles died in a mining accident at Lenado, out of Aspen, Feb. 24, 1897.

Are there any books about mining accidents in the area?
