Catherine,
The following info is from Burke's Peerage, 1876. Interesting, but not
always 100% reliable!
Sir Edward Neville of Adlington Park in Kent, 2nd son of George,Lord
Abergavenny, m. Eleanor, dau. of Andrew, Lord Windsor. They had 2 sons,
1.Edward who succeeded his cousin as 5th Lord Abergavenny in 1587
2.Sir Henry Neville of Billingbere. m. Elizabeth, dau of Sir John Gresham
Sir Henry had a son, Sir Henry Neville of Billingbere m. Anne, dau. of Sir
Henry Killigrew of Cornwall. Henry d. 1615 and was succeeded by his son
Sir Henry Neville, m. Elizabeth, dau of Sir John Smith, of Ostenhanger,
Kent
I'm afraid there are no daughters listed for either of the Sir Henrys.
(Typical!)
-------------------------
Dukes of Leeds, Osborne family:
Thomas , 4th Duke, KG, b. 6 Nov, 1713; m. 1740 Mary, dau of Frances, Earl
of Godolphin, grandau. of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. He was
succeeded by his son
Frances Godolphin, 5th Duke of Leeds, b. 29 Jan 1751. He died 31 Jan 1799.
His son was
George William Frederick, 6th Duke of Leeds, b. 21 July 1775. Amongst
other things, George was Governor of the Scilly Isles. He died 10 July,
1838.
There is no lineage info for the Godolphin family in My copy of BP. Lots
more for the Nevilles!!
Let me know if you want more of this. Later today I can type up whatever
seems relevant. Right now I have to go out for a while. Sorry but it's
going to be very very hot today and I want to go out while it's still
coolish.
Regards,
Liz in Melbourne
