I wonder if anyone can tell me a little about a farm or manor called Hendra
in St Columb Minor. I gather Hendra means 'old farm' in Cornish. It seems
to have been a largish estate from at least 1851 to 1881 judging by the
number of my KNEEBONE relatives recorded living and working there in the
censuses of those years. A branch of the family came out to North East
Victoria, Australia, after gold in the 1850's and one of the luckier ones
built a large home there called 'Hendra' with the proceeds. Does anything
of the St Columb Minor Hendra exist today?
Thanks, John Burgess, Canberra
