CANINDEX - Index of emigrants from British Isles to Canada and Newfoundland
(snip)
Hello Everyone,
The above CANINDEX looks as if it would be of great assistance to me in my
search for my ggrandfather's brothers and sisters (HUTHNANCE) who migrated
from Cornwall to Canada. Could someone please give more details and explain
how to access this Index?
I am finding the researching of this Cornish family in Canada from Australia
particularly difficult
I have located:
From the 1881 Raleigh Township Census
Surname Given Sex Age Born Stat Relig. Origin Profession Pg
HUTHNANCE, Francis M 39 England . C.Meth English Farmer 4-04
" , Thomas M 46 " . " " Farmer "
" , Elizabeth G. F 54 " . " " "
" , Sarah J. F 30 " . "
and their brother John:
John Huthnance found in:
Canadian Genealogy Index, 1600s-1900s
Event: Living
Year: 1881
Place: Mountain District
Province of record source: Manitoba
County of record source: Mountain
Source: Extracts from the 1881 federal census of the Marquette District,
National Archives of Canada, Ottawa. (and also some later homesteading
records for John in Manitoba.)
Regards,
Mary
