Greetings,

I would be really grateful if anyone with a list of the vicars of St Mawgan in Meneage (or other information) could be kind enough to tell me when Rev James Trewinard was there. I think there may have been two - the one whose dates I am especially interested in is the first one who was possibly the father.

He is recorded as being at Breage (also Vicar of Mawgan at the same time) between 1661 and 1662, with a gap in the list till 1696 when Rev Henry Huthnance is recorded there until 1720. Then there is a record for a Rev James Trewinnard MA there between 1720-22 (again also Vicar of Mawgan.) This is from the Breage records. The Mawgan in Meneage records could well be different.

If anyone is able to clarify this it would be greatly appreciated. Henry Huthnance married Margaret Trewinnard in 1695 at Mawgan (recorded in Phillmore's as Mrs Margaret Trewinard)and whist it appears more likely to be Rev Trewinard's daughter there is also a possibility that it was his widow!

Regards,
Mary
