England means anything the author wanted it to mean.=20
Growing up in Nebraska, England was some far off distant country. As =
such, I never learned that there was any difference between "England", =
Wales and Cornwall. Ireland was even just a country over there =
somewhere. As I research my family, I can tell that the people I am =
researching and their recorders were not much more geographically =
literate that I was/am. (I prefer to think I am now literate =
but...<VBG>) My g grandfather is thought to be from Cornwall, and he =
decclared on his citizenship declaration that he was from England. I =
suspect it did not make much difference to him except that he had to =
renounce his allegience to the English monarch. Or was it that he just =
did not wish to take the time to explain the difference to =
geographically illiterate beaureaucrats. <G>
