Folks,
Not to beat a dead horse over this 'ENGLAND' vs. 'CORNWALL' issue, but if you
take a look at the UK censuses, you'll see plenty of instances where a person's
place of birth is listed as 'North America,' (meaning Canada or USA, no
Province or State noted) or 'USA' (no State).
I don't think the 'geographically challenged' were or are limited to one side
of the Atlantic.
How'd you like to be from the UK looking up an ancestor you've found in the
1871 census with a place of birth list as 'North America,' or 'USA' or
'Islands'?<g>
