The story is that my 2x gt grandfather, THOMAS BARNES, on the 1881
census was in the village of Paul with his wife, AMELIA (nee OLDS) and the
On the 1891 census Thomas was in the village of "Trewellard", Cornwall
with a Canadian lady named Elizabeth ?. She was listed as Thomas's wife.
Amelia and one child, Albert Arthur, have disappeared from the scene.
Is there a marriage and / or death index available in Canada for the
period 1881 - 1891 ?
The thought is that maybe the family immigrated to Canada and then
returned after the death's of some of the family, but that Thomas bought
back a female 'souvenir'.
