Dear Listers,
I wonder if the letter written, by William Hambly in 1840, was successfully
posted to the List. I did not see the posting, so I am wondering about it.
If it was posted O.K., I trust that you did not find it too long. I
apologise, if you did. I simply could not see where I could shorten it.
If you did see the posting and did not have time to read it, the surnames
William Hambly mentioned in his letter were as follows:
Thos REED
Walter EDE
Mr GRANGER (Owner of quarry, I take it)
Henry COREY
William BOSCOMBE (who appears to have immigrated)
Mr WEST Preacher on the Circuit
Samuel SYMONS (Read as Lymons, but I think it should be Symons)
Mary Francis LOBB
John MARTIN (who visited them)
N. SCOT
Thos CROCKER (Scot, Crocker and COREY he met at the "fare")
Of course he spoke of conditions of the day and the drop in wages etc.
Pengelly is near Delabole which is not far from St. Teath.
Best wishes
Elizabet
