Subject: Lookups for Tywardreath and Boyd's Marriage index
Date: Tue, 1 Dec 1998 00:20:19 -0800 (PST)
Hello Listers,
I now have (at my local LDS), the Tywardreath Parish
Baptisms from 1813 to 1959 and will do lookups for anyone who
asks nicely (maybe this will cut down on all the requests <G>).
It is not an index but copies of the actual registers, so it
is arranged chronologically. If you want a lookup, please give
me actual dates or at least a small spread for the lookup. The
info given includes baptism dates, child's name, parents' names,
where they lived, the father's trade and who officiated at the
ceremony. I only have this at the Family History Center until
about December 10th, but I can extend it if warranted.
Unfortunately, life doesn't allow me to go every day, but I
usually make it once or twice a week so be patient.
Also on permanent loan, I have all of the microfiche
for the Boyd's Marriage Index if anyone wants lookups.
Again those are arranged chronologically so it helps to have
a general idea of when the marriage occurred.
Lately, I've been thinking (that's when my hubby
starts to worry)...We recently got a new puppy, a yellow labrador
retriever and when we went to pick her up to bring her home,
the mom's owners gave us a cute basket with ribbon that had
puppy prints on it, a small sack of puppy "cookies", a can of
food and a folder with her pedigree going back about 5 or 6
generations. Now why can't that be done with people too?
(The pedigree, not the puppy "cookies"!) When you head
home from the hospital with the new baby, you're handed a
pedigree that goes back 5 or 6 generations! I know it
wouldn't always work like with adoptions or home births, plus
I want them to have it all on a centralized computer, so the
parents don't have to come up with this before they are allowed
to leave the hospital. Is this something that we could legislate
for as a world law?<G> I'm not saying that would satisfy my
searching for my ancestors (who I'm sure are all on Zebcor where
people live to be 200 years old), but this way we would know
where to look to be able to flesh out the basic info.
John Z., please add me to your pickup list (that sounds
rather naughty doesn't it). Maybe all of us Washingtonians
can meet on Mt. Rainier and you can snag us as we head up to
British Columbia.. I would like to bring pralines and my
famous enchilada recipe. Also could you convince the Zebcor
group to bring some censuses(sp?) for any and all years
available? Thanks!
