<snip>Hello Blanche,

Thanks for your contribution (and the summer here has been great until about an
hour ago when a very wet warm drizzle set in from the north......)

Actually it was not my question in the first place - Connie Saunders originally
asked "why NZ?". John C and I just beefed up the volume! I hope that Connie has
her answers now.

I had not joined the List when you posted the Rollo Arnold extracts but I have
been into the Cornish List Archives today and found the rest of them. Very
interesting. I will print them tonight. I have already learnt a good deal.

While wandering around Rick Parson's West Penwith website today I also found a
transcription of a John Biggans article at Nick Berryman's site::
http://www.berryman.ndirect.co.uk/genealogy/emigration.htm

It, too, is worth a read!

Cheers,
John Tremewan in Auckland where the drizzle has stopped again and the humidity
has shot up.
