Hi Judy
Others have let you know that Broken Hill is a mining city here in
Australia but I also have a Berriman connection.
James HOLLOW b ~1844 St Ives married 1866 Elizabeth
BERRIMAN also b ~1844 St Ives.
They came to Australia in 1877 on the Lochee with a son Francis
James HOLLOW and settled at Moonta, South Australia a copper
mining Town. His wife died in Moonta (1890), he and his family
then moved in 1890 to Broken Hill in New South Wales and
continued to work in the mines there.
James and Elizabeth lived at Lanark in Scotland before coming to
Australia. They had eight children one of them John Henry
Berriman HOLLOW, the name Berriman was also used in the next
generation of the family.
Precise links to HOLLOWs or BERRIMANs in St Ives have not
been made yet.
Hope this is of interest
