FYI....
Europe By Car also has a center in Truro...
Last spring when I was researching this and made my reservation with
Europe by Car, Avis was a LOT more expensive...
At that time, I could rent an automatic transmission car thru EbC for
about the same (or it may have been less) as a manual transmission from Avis.
I don't know if those price discrepancies are still the same, but that
was the deciding factor for me in chosing Europe by Car. (well, they
were also a good bit more helpful and just nicer on the phone than Avis <g>)
However, as I mentioned before, I wound up not needing a car and
cancelling the reservation....so I'm not in a position to say if things
would have gone as well as it seemed they would.
By the way, just don't forget to reserve and pay for your rental BEFORE
you leave the US and, if possible, do so with a gold or platinum level
credit card which COVERS your insurance, so you do NOT have to pay the
fairly exhorbitant insurance thru the car rental companies. This applies
to whomever your car rental agency is.
All the best,
Sandy
