Hi Listers,

I am actually researching the Basher Family from Cornwall but when I
received a copy of the passenger list from the “Waimate” which set sail from
England on 27 October 1874 and arrived in Lyttleton New Zealand 25 January
1875 I noticed that not only were some of my relations on it (namely
Cassandra Basher, Peter Basher & his wife Harriet Toy ; all from Cornwall);
there is also members of the Kemp family also from Cornwall listed

Richard Kemp
Martha Kemp aged 45 Servant
Emma Kemp aged 22
Emily Kemp aged 12.

Thought I’d share this information in case it can help anyone in their
search for their ancestors.
