A "headright" is someone/individual/group who (pays) the cost of passage
from one place to another(England to Colonial America) and in return
gets 500 acres of land for each individual transported in the new
land(MD,VA,DE,etc.). Tit-for-tat business deal. Their is a legal
definition for "headright" under English Law...which is under
(www.blackslaw.com) and was used in early America until we became a
nation...I think?
