I was supposed to go to a meeting tonight in Penzance to hear our M.P. talk - a very Cornish GEORGE!
Unfortuanetely, there was a crash just outside the village about 3.30 this afternoon. One man was killed. This sealed the village, and when I got there about 6.30, I found a line of cars. Some of them had been there a long time. Villagers coming home from work (from Helston etc) were leaving their cars and walking home. I learnt that it would be another hour at least before the road was open. So, I turned about (dark, raining and misty on a narrow road) and came home.
I meet cars of local school children who were trying to go to a Christmas show - they weren't going anywhere either!
The police assured me that if we need fire, ambulance or police, or the lifeboat was called out (many of those men life in the next village) then helicopters would be used!

So, how many of you would like to live in Lizard Village? Now we wait to hear who died in that crash.
