I have some CHAPMANs in Treneglos and Warbstow between 1770 and 1835.  No

James or James Henry though.

Hi.  Thanks to everyone who has helped me with the Phillimore marriages.  I

have hit a brick wall trying to find the birth of my ggrandfather James

Henry Chapman and was wondering if there is anyone who has access to BDMs

may be able to help me find him.  I have looked on the free BDM and have had

some help from 1837 online but no luck as yet finding him.   I found a James

Henry Chapman born 1859 St Columb and a James Chapman born 1854 Truro but

neither were my James.

Details I have for him so far are:

James H Chapman son farm lab 1854 Gwennap

Zelia Chapman daughter 3 scholar 3 Gwennap

James Henry emigrated in 1874

Information from the family says he was born in 1857.  His marriage

certificate gives his birth year as 1863.  His headstone lists him as being

aged 40 when he died which would make the year 1858.  In the 1871 census he

is listed as born in 1854 Gwennap.  I have been told but not seen yet that

he was listed in the 1861 Census, Service Gate, Gwennap, as Francis Henry

Chipman aged 7 born Kenwyn.   From the info on this census he could have

been born around late 1853 early 1854.  All the family were listed as

Chipman in that census.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
