I just found a picture of my brickwall's parents. My Jane KEMP has been very tricky to get back to Cornwall. She was born on Feb 6 or 8, 1853 or 1855 depending on the record that I find. All records indicate that she was born in England. I had a professional look for her birth certificate and he couldn't find one for her. Historical trivia places her in Cornwall and just the other day, around Land's End. On the back of the picture of her parents was written, "Grandmother Jane TUCKER's parents KEMP in Landsend." I was wondering if there is a town called Land's End or if this is just a designation for the area. What parish covers this area? Was it highly populated in the 1800's? I did a search of the 1861 Cornwall Census and found two families with potential Jane's but neither were in "Land's End". I have given you all of the information I have on her. When she arrived in the United States is a mystery. The first documentation I have on her is a newspaper listing !
of her
marriage to Joseph TUCKER in 1884. He came to US between 1872 and 1884 from St. Austell Cornwall. Thank you in advance for helping me understand more on this area of Cornwall. Hopefully, she won't be a mystery for much longer.

Valerie (in Chicago IL USA)
