Hi List,

Are you interested in learning more about DNA testing to try and find your elusive ancestors? I did it with my Hawkins family line, (they weren't Cornish), and found a tie in with an established Hawkins line that has a paper trail back to Jeffrey and Dorothy Hawkins who came over with William Penn aboard the Welcome. I realize I was very lucky but you just never know...

Anyway, there's going to be a series of television programs on this subject starting tonight and lasting 3 nights. For those of you who don't live in the Orange County/Los Angeles area of California, you can access the same information via website after the shows air. Please see the following information to learn more about the program and the times it will air.

I'm a member of SCGS, Southern California Genealogical Society, and I do not receive any monetary gain for letting you know about the program.

Sincerely,
Jan Mackey

"Tune in on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 13, 14, and 15 when
KTLA
Prime News (Channel 5 at 10pm) features, within the 10pm news hour, a
series
called "DNA Testing: The Search for Your Family History."

Lead Reporter Kim Rouggie interviewed our SCGS members Lin LaRochelle
and
Doug Miller at the SCGS Library in Burbank about the role DNA testing
now
plays in the search for our most elusive ancestors. Bennett Greenspan,
President of Family Tree DNA Company also participated.

For those of you who can't stay up that late, the clips will run for a
limited time on their website www.KTLA.com in the news video section.
[The
reports will not be available online until after the broadcast date.]

Congratulations to Doug and Lin for representing SCGSl!"
