No, I don't have any Thomas in my tree. Mine is primarily JAMES begining with William Henry JAMES born in St Columb Major in 1840. Migrated to Grass Valley/Nevada City in 1862.

It isn't the same person, darn it!!! My Henry is VERY elusive, but I do know
he died in 1862 in Nevada City at the age of 39. None of his children had
his name. He had three daughters and one son, Thomas. Nobody was a preacher.
I can't find anything about his death. Everything on record burned in one of
the many fires in Nevada City.
Thanks for trying, though!
I notice you are also looking for THOMAS. Henry's daughter, Lavinia (b.
1861, Nevada City) married William THOMAS in 1882, recently arrived from St.
Austell, Cornwall. I have lots of connections with Nevada City. Lavinia was
my great grandmother. Do you have THOMAS family in Nevada City?

> Jan: I have a Henry Harry Hicks born in Hangtown, California in about
1880. His father also, Harry Hicks was a route minister with the Methodist
Church throughout the "gold country" including Nevada City and Grass Valley,
Ca. Do not have his exact Cornwall birth site or date.
