Surname:

Rosemont Teller County Colorado.
Judith, Yes, there was a Rosemont in Teller County, and Mt. Rosa can be
found inside of Teller County, at the El Paso County line. (COLORADO ATLAS
& GAZETTEER COPYRIGHT 1995 DeLorme Mapping, pg. 62.) Rosemont was on the
route of the Shortline Railroad from Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek-Victor
District. It was at milepost 21.3--exactly 21.3 miles from both Colorado
Springs and Cripple Creek) The railroad was converted to an auto highway
1924-1926. (Gold Camp Road, or Corley Highway) The book: THE GOLD CAMP
ROAD The Short Line to CC & V" by Doris Wolfe--copyright 1988, has a few
pictures of Rosemont "then and now". I remember hearing that Rosemont and
Rosemont Reservoir were connected with Spencer Penrose and the Broadmoor
Hotel in Colorado Springs. It might be worth while to contact the Broadmoor
about their history.
Hope this is helpful.
